With the backround of aeronautics, D'Ascanio created a scooter with a change in tooth gears mounted on the handlebars. Then by installing a suspension arm on the front wheels for ride comfort.
At that time in 1945, this MP6 prototype still has no name, no cooling fan fitted in the engine, brake lever mounted on the left ( not on the right as usual mounted in a future version of Vespa ).
